The Silver Sego Studs are inspired by the delicate beauty of the sego lily, a wildflower native to the high desert landscapes of the Great Basin. Blooming quietly across sagebrush country each spring, the sego lily has long been admired for its resilience and understated elegance.
The flower holds a special place in western history. During the hardships of the mid-1800s, Indigenous peoples shared knowledge of the sego lily bulb as a food source with early settlers, helping sustain communities during times of scarcity. Because of this history, the sego lily came to symbolize endurance, resourcefulness, and the spirit of the West. Today it remains a beloved wildflower across Nevada, Utah, Oregon, and Idaho.
These earrings were created with a nod to my friend Sage Knight and her handmade “Cowboy Hawaiian” shirts, which feature prints of wildflowers found throughout the Nevada desert.

Cast in solid sterling silver, these studs measure 10 mm × 10 mm and feature sterling silver posts. Small and refined, they are designed for everyday wear while carrying a subtle connection to the landscapes and traditions of the Great Basin.
